Definitions

  • ‘User’ or ‘Users’ or ‘you’ or ‘your’ refers to any person or persons viewing or interacting with this site. 
  • ‘Content’ refers to any text, photograph or other image presented on this site to Users by either Missing Autism Uk or other Users, and ‘your Content’ is Content that you upload to the Community or other parts of the Missing Autism Uk website. 
  • ‘Community’ means the Missing Autism Uk online community forum or forums to which you subscribe and to which you upload your Content. 
  • ‘Link’ or ‘Links’ means Internet hyperlinks and ‘linked’ is to be construed accordingly.

Purpose

The purpose of the Community is to provide a safe and supportive forum for people on the autism spectrum, their parents, guardians, family, friends, colleagues, and those working in the field of autism to share experiences, views and opinions.

The Community and the Missing Autism Uk websites in general are not a substitute for professional advice. You should consult your doctor, or other relevant professional, before making any decisions that could affect the health of you or others.

Disclaimer 

All Content submitted by Users, views, opinions and information, whether publicly posted or privately sent are those of the individual and are not the views, policy or advice of the Missing Autism Uk. This includes Content submitted by Missing Autism Uk Volunteer members when they are participating as individuals in a non-official capacity.

You understand and acknowledge that the person who submitted content is the only person responsible both for their views and the accuracy of their information. 

Any link or reference to third party organisations, their products or their services does not mean that the Missing Autism Uk endorses them or their products or their services. The Missing Autism Uk aims to remove such references but is not required to do this.

Personal information

It is a condition of use of the Community that all information submitted by you at registration is truthful and accurate and that you will maintain the accuracy of this information.

Age restriction

Our Community is solely for users aged 16 and over.

If you are 15 years of age or younger you must not register for, or participate in, the Community.

We reserve the right to close your account immediately if we believe that you are 15 years of age or younger. If we close your account we are not obliged to give you any warning, but we will attempt to notify you afterwards by email. You may open an account again as soon as you are 16 years of age. 

Conduct of users

  1. You agree not to participate in mischievous or malicious behaviour which causes damage or may cause damage (including loss of reputation) to the Missing Autism Uk or this site or any of the computer systems where this site resides. 
  2. Messages or links must not be excessively repeated with the aim of damaging the Community.
  3. You must not impersonate anyone else including Missing Autism Uk volunteer or falsely state or suggest that you have an affiliation with a person or association.
  4. You must not try to gather personal information from other users of the Community.
  5. You agree not to set up more than one account with the website.

 

Content submitted by users must adhere to the following conditions:

  1. Content must not be obscene, defamatory or libellous, vulgar, sexually orientated, hateful, threatening, or in violation of any laws.
  2. Content must not be sexist, homophobic, racist, intolerant of religious beliefs, or otherwise discriminatory. This includes links to porn or hate sites.
  3. Content must not infringe any copyright, registered trade marks, rights of privacy, rights of confidentiality, publicity (or image) rights or other intellectual property rights, or other rights of any other person or organisation.
  4. Content, including your posts or profile entry, must not contain your, or any other Users’, personal contact information, such as: email addresses and personal website addresses, postal addresses, telephone, or fax numbers.
  5. Content must not contain any information about any person who is 15 years old or younger, which could be used to identify them.
  6. Links to websites are allowed in public posts and in personal profiles at the discretion of the Missing Autism Uk. Attempts to use the Community for business purposes and or profit will be removed.
  7. Whilst mentions of products and brands are acceptable within messages or profiles, advertisements or promotions of specific products or services are not allowed and will be deleted.
  8. Links submitted in Content (as part of a message or in User profiles) must not link to web pages or services that break UK law or conflict directly or in spirit with the terms and conditions of use of the Community. Your account will be closed immediately if you link to illegal sites.
  9. Content must be posted in English, unless a language-specific forum is made available for speakers
    of other languages.

 

The Missing Autism Uk may edit or remove Content that does not meet the conditions listed above. Users who submit Content that does not meet these conditions may have their account closed without notice. See ‘Community moderation’.

Responsibility

You are responsible for the Content submitted from your account.

Should any legal action arise from the Content you submit to the Community, you undertake to indemnify and hold the Missing Autism Uk harmless against all costs arising from such legal action – including any claim liability, cost damage or loss incurred by the Missing Autism Uk. 

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and copyright of User Content

You retain the ownership rights for your Content and grant the Missing Autism Uk & Missing Autism USA  a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, sub-licensable right to exercise the copyright, publicity right, trade marks, database rights and other intellectual property rights you have in your Content, in any media known now or in the future.

In addition, you waive all moral rights you have in your Content to the fullest extent permitted by law. You represent and warrant that you are entitled to grant such a licence to us.

Research

Gathering information for surveys and research studies, or similar, using the Community is strictly prohibited unless prior permission has been given by the Missing Autism Uk.

Community moderation

  • The Missing Autism Uk has the right to remove, edit, move or close any message or group of messages (public or private) for any reason. The Missing Autism Uk is not required to do this.
  • The Missing Autism Uk is not obliged to enter into any correspondence regarding the moderation of Content on the Community or any other part of the Missing Autism Uk website.
  • The Missing Autism Uk has the right to modify or delete any or all information relating to a User, including deletion of that User’s account, without prior notice or reason.
  • Any removal or banning of a visitor from anywhere on the Community is binding and the decision is final. The Missing Autism Uk is not required to explain any removal or ban.

 

In cases of dispute, the decision of the Chief Executive Officer of the Missing Autism Uk is final.

Communications

Due to the volume of applications we receive, unsuccessful applicants may receive standard or automated correspondence from us.

We endeavour to screen all applications received through this website, however where application volumes are large, we reserve the right not to acknowledge your application, but where we do this will be by email and we will use your personal data to facilitate this.

Where an application is unsuccessful before you have reached the interview stage of the recruitment process we will not be obliged to inform you as to the reason for rejection.

There is no appeal process for an unsuccessful application. However if you have a complaint or query regarding your application please email the relevant HR team, details are available on our contact us page.

Where an application is unsuccessful at or after interview stage we will not provide feedback unless you request it. To do this please email the relevant HR team, details are available on our contact us page and type ‘Feedback Request’ into the subject line.  This feedback may be provided verbally or written (by email).

An unsuccessful application for a current vacancy does not prevent you from applying for subsequently advertised vacancies unless you have been disqualified through submission of false information. 

Existing volunteers

If you are an existing employee wishing to apply for a job role advertised on this site please do so using the self-service portal.

Previous volunteers

Some categories of previous Missing Autism Uk & Missing Autism USA volunteers may be ineligible to apply for roles due, for example, to receipt of severance packages.
